Rare opportunity to acquire a Universal Geneva Tricompax chronograph made of stainless steel.
This copy bears the reference 22539 which is characterized by a large steel case, polished angels, brushed horns and the highly appreciated movement cal 287 inside! This movement makes the entire watch work and is more intended for an engineer than a watchmaker to be repaired due to all the complications (Keep in mind that this beauty was made in 1946!).
We have all the complications visible on the original perfect dial, a chronograph with 12 hours counter, an annual calendar (day, date and month) and a moon phase. Many Universal Genève Tricompax watches have a redone dial because of the damage caused by water, because the cases are not waterproof, or because of other damage suffered over the years, but this example has a dial in an incredible state to be over 80 years old! In addition to the dial in superb condition, the moon of the moon phase is still original. This part is also damaged or replaced on many Tricompax watches!
This watch was certainly kept in a drawer of the original owner (from whom we acquired this watch) was kept in the original state! Overall, this is an amazing piece.
On the steel case, at the top pusher level, we find some damage, these damage is reflected in the price and that is why we can offer this watch for several thousand euros less than our competitors. The watch has been revised and all functions work perfectly as well as keeping the time.
Overall, it is a rare, timeless and high-quality investment watch from Universal Geneva which is every day more difficult to find in such an intact state!
